Many Cities & Towns have historic districts. These districts are created to maintain older parts of Cities and Towns. Some districts are under the jurisdiction of state or federal guidelines. Each district may have their own unique regulations. The shape, size, style, color, location and approval of many building components may be regulated. Most districts may be governed by citizen groups. All districts are regulated by written laws governing the City or Town. These rules can not be ignored and in many cases heavy fines can be levied for non compliance
